LOVE THAT’S MORE THAN CHOCOLATES

WHAT LOVE LOOKS LIKE

Luke 10:30-35 NLT

In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. (31) A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. (32) So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. (33) But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. (34) He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. (35) The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

WHERE LOVE COMES FROM

1John3-16-18 NIV

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. (17) If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? (18) Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

COME AND SEE

John 1:43-50

NIVThe next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.” (44) Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. (45) Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”(46) “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. (47) When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” (48) “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.”(49) Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.” (50) Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.”

SET IT UP!

Luke 5:4-7 NLT

“When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.”(5) “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” (6) And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! (7) A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.”

SHOUT LOUDER!!!

 Mark 10:46-52 GNT

They came to Jericho, and as Jesus was leaving with his disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus son of Timaeus was sitting by the road. (47) When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus! Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

(48) Many of the people scolded him and told him to be quiet. But he shouted even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” (49) Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called the blind man. “Cheer up!” they said. “Get up, he is calling you.” (50) So he threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus.

(51) “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. “Teacher,” the blind man answered, “I want to see again.” (52) “Go,” Jesus told him, “your faith has made you well.” At once he was able to see and followed Jesus on the road.
